What Can I Do With The Kids’ Baby Clothes?

Filed under: Old Clothes, Baby & Kids — Administrator @ 2:26 pm

I saved boxes and boxes of my kids’ baby clothes. I went through them again, recently, and saw they had spots on them that WERE NOT there when I put them away. Creepy….

Anyway, if you know how to get those spots out, let me know. But, other than that, what can I do with all these baby clothes to keep them, rather than having them add to the boxes of junk around here?

Let me have it…. Those tiny little booties are precious, but they are just collecting dust in the garage.

What Can I Do With all those flippin’ AOL disks?

Filed under: Computer Stuff — Administrator @ 4:22 pm

I’ve got those darned AOL disks coming out my ears. I don’t know what list I got on where … but, if they back up a truck and dump thousands of shiny disks in my lawn, I won’t be surprised.

I’ve used them as coasters, and let the kids use them as mirrors, but I’m out of ideas.

So, tell me … what in the heck do I do with all these flippin’ AOL disks?

What Can I Do with Epsom Salts?

Filed under: Personal Products — Administrator @ 7:20 am

Epsom salts are another one of those products that has an almost infinite number of uses.

Personally, I use Epsom Salts (approximately 2 cups) in my bath water. I sometimes add a few drops of essential oils (whatever I have on hand) for a luxurious spa-quality soak for pennies on the dollar. Here are more homemade spa & bath salt recipes.

Epsom Salts are also heavenly for sore, achy muscles. Just add a few cups of epsom salts to your bath and soak in the warmest water you can enjoy.

What are some of your favorite uses for Epsom Salts?

Filed under: Kitchen Items — Administrator @ 1:25 am

So, thrifty moms, what do you suggest that I do with an old coffee can?

Right now, I can think of using it for storage for something like buttons or dice … Yeah, I know, not the most creative uses for old coffee cans. ;)

Are there any uses for Coffee Cans that you can think of?

What Can I Do with Vaseline?

Filed under: Personal Products — Administrator @ 6:36 am

Vaseline is one of those “wonder items” to keep around the house at all times.

My brother-in-law, as a kid, got his head stuck in the banister — and vaseline rubbed all over his ears and head got him free. If it wasn’t for vaseline, he might still be there today. ;)

So, other than freeing kids who get their heads stuck in banisters…
what are some uses for Vaseline?

What Can I Do with Film Canisters?

Filed under: Hobby — Administrator @ 6:32 am

Does anyone still use 35mm film? Does it still come in those little black film canisters?

I used to store change in them as a kid.
I’ve also used them as a cat toy (put a few dried beans in them so they make noise and roll it in front of your Friskie kitty).

What are some uses for Film Canisters?

What Can I Do with Baby Wipes?

Filed under: Personal Products, Baby & Kids — Administrator @ 6:28 am

I’ve seen a list somewhere of uses for baby wipes. You’d think those things were made with a touch of magic with all their uses.

I do keep some in the car. They came in extremely handy on the side of a highway in Mississippi when my 4 year old got carsick on our way to Texas. I hate to think of what we would have resorted to if we hadn’t had the baby wipes.

So, thrifty and creative moms, other than wiping a baby’s little bottom, what can I do with baby wipes?

What Can I Do with Sawdust?

Filed under: Front & Back Yard — Administrator @ 12:38 pm

I’m in the middle of hurricane preparation. Hurricane season is only a few weeks away, so the tree companies are quite busy here.

My yard is currently buried in sawdust. It smells wonderful, like fresh trees, but … are there any uses for sawdust? I’ll probably just rake it to the curb, but I thought I’d ask the creative and frugal moms here, first. :)

I look forward to hearing what I can do with sawdust.
