What Can I Do With a Bag of Buttons for Clothes?
Back in January, my Grandma passed away. One of the things that I remember about her is that she always had tins filled with spare buttons. I have no idea why she kept them all (except that she maybe I get some of my packrat genes from her) — but she always had oodles of spare buttons. All of us kids loved to sort them, and line them up. Maybe that’s why she had them around.
Other than entertaining your grandchildren, what are some uses for spare buttons?

I have a tin of buttons as well. They always seem to come in handy. But I think it would be interesting to decorate a Christmas tree with them! Just string them together to replace garland.

Make a piece of jewelry - string them on some beading wire and voila’ you have a great unique bracelet (or earrings or a necklace) and it’ll remind you of Grandma too! Win-win!

When I was a teenager, I sewed various buttons onto the pockets of my jean jacket. It was the 80’s but everything old is new again, a young girl, pre-teen maybe might like that even today. I see bedazzled things are making a comeback.
